Series 2a air intake from elbow tube to carb not holding

Hello, not sure what to do regarding the rubber tube that has a metal ring to fit onto the carb perfectly. Problem is when tightening the tube to the carb it does not grip due to the metal ring. Do I just need to seal it with a glue!? It just sits loose on the top. Please help!

Series IIa/3 engine noise, any ideas please.

I have a clattering which sounds like amplified tappets. Started suddenly without any warning and fortunately just outside the gate. Engine still starts easily and runs. Plenty of oil pressure and oil to the rockers. No obvious problems with tappets when run with rocker cover off and hard to...

Hi This is a long shot - but if there is anyone in South West Cornwall who has a hand crank lever I could borrow could you let me know? I am going away for a few weeks and my treasured Series 2a is refusing to start. I think starter motor has packed in as I have tried connecting it directly...

    Mystery body part

I'm dismantling a '67 IIA and I'm down to the bare chassis and disconnected engine waiting for the engine hoist and replacement chassis to arrive! In taking the vehicle apart (thank goodness for angle grinders!) the bulkhead was in pretty good shape except for the lower outside corners. The tie...

I'm quite handy with tools and know less than I probably should before attempting such a thing. So ... I may be back here for advice, help, words-of-wisdom and...

How Do I? Unidentified Caliper (er.. and rest of axle)

Hello chaps, I have what reg says is a 1971 Series2A SWB, with running gear/sus/steering from a 1994 Disco1 (200TdI etc) and a defender front end all bolted to a newer galv chassis. Series 2a brake failure

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and to Land Rovers in general, but I've just bought myself a 1970 Series 2a petrol utility. The vehicle had just passed it's MOT, but unfortunately on driving away from the seller's house I had a bit of a mishap! Three miles up the road, I had to pull in to avoid...
