1968 Series 2a
For saleMy much loved and trusty truck, a Landrover 88 series 2a.
Gets huge amounts of love wherever you go!
Tax. MOT and even (I think) ULEZ exempt.
As featured in various threads on here
She is a 1968 series 2a 88 truck cab, comes complete with the sticks and canvas hood.
Colour… dark green, light blue and some brown.
Garaged all year and run mainly in the summer with the cab, and windows off.
Please see pics for examples of her various guises.
She is fitted with a 2.25 petrol and all the desirable bits.. free wheeling hubs, overdrive etc.
In the last 18 months I have fitted
New door pins
New towing electrics
New thermostat and housing
All new cooling hoses
New fuel filter
Changed all the diff oils
Changed the overdrive oil
Changed the engine oil
Flushed the heating system and replaced all the coolant
Painted the roof
Fitted a new Speedo and cable.. mileage is therefore unverified but as with most old Landrovers…. neither worked when I bought her.
Patched in a new bulkhead repair to the drivers side (in the corner where they all go!)
New wipers
New rear mud flaps
New heavy duty battery. Last month.
New oil filter
New plugs
New track rod ends
New rocker cover gasket
New fan belt
New Rear SWB Brake Kit, including
Brake shoes
Wheel cylinders
Brake springs.
New custom rear wheel mount.
As you can see, a fair amount spent on all the important and oily parts
She is currently sat on 4 x new rims from Paddocks and 4 x GT Radial Adventuro M/T 235/85/16 tyres in very good condition.
She also comes with the original (perished) 7.5x16 tyres and wheels, and a very good refurbished spare, mounted in the rear tub on a custom plate.
As with any 56 year old, there are a few areas which will require attention in the coming years..
Passenger side bulkhead will require a patch, by the windscreen area.
Various small rust holes
Clutch is slipping when under heavy load and warm, but she drives fine generally. I have a brand new LOF clutch sat in my office which I bought a few weeks back and needs fitting. (I can either have that done by my local garage prior to sale and subject to our agreement, or it will come included with the sale for you to install).
She is a very honest and much loved truck, but our ongoing house renovation means she is reluctantly for sale, she is spending too long sat in the garage without being loved.
Located in Worcestershire. Near Wolverley
For sale at 13.5k. Sensible offers will be considered.
Test drives welcome, but no Camel Trophy type escapades!
Any questions, please ask.
