Would someone be able to post a photo of a 1970 Land Rover series 2A 109" van?

Or tell me where could get a decent picture and spec details?

I'm off to see one next weekend and I'd like to know what's original and what's not.

Cheers,

Darrin.

This site has loads of old brochures, prices lists specs etc. Main thing about a 1970 2A is, it should have the headlights in the wings, and the fairly unusual + shaped metal grill

This is not the van but the station wagon but you can see the headlights as Bernie mentions and the grill.

deep door sills and the old fashioned door hinges, mesh grille and pork pie brake lights are the most obvious...

Thanks guys,

Bernie / Iris that website is great - had me looking at all sorts.

Ada, I'm with you on the deep door sills, old hinges and big mesh grill - but you've lost me on the pork pie brake lights - what do they look like (lemmie guess a pork pie)!

Headlights on the wings - OK.

Were there any interior changes or add ons I could look out for.

Cheers,

Darrin.

Should still be a steel bulkhead like the SII, and earlier IIa's. Horn press in steering wheel centre, metal indicator stalk. Dip/main beam switch on the floor.

There arent many differences in the interior, the main change for the late IIa was to have the headlights moved to the wings. Though, that being said, the very last ones had plastic grilles...Just to confusticate things.

Cheers, the lad has sent me a picture now - I think he should be shot for the colour scheme but apart from that, what ya think?

Darrin.

Series 2A looks good to me and the Colour scheme's OK thats how the good ones looked in the late 60's, early 70's
Now he just needs to grow his hair long wear some beads and put on a Kaftan and some sandals. Then head on down to Morroco?. And everything will be fine, like a cool scene Man!
