All terrain tyres advice

What are the best type of all terrain tyres to have which are good on road but will be ok for playing on a weekend?

I currently have 205/80/16 on my defender, can I fit 235/85/16 on the same rims? Will I need spacers?

Cheers

Hi mike, I am running 235/85/16 runway enduro all terrains, and they are fantastic, although you will have to change your rims though, got them from paddocks on the web, they were £75+ vat per corner fitted on silver modular rims, they are still doing that package by the way;)
hope this helps

a good tyre is the Bf goodrich AT. They are highly recomended and are what Landrover put on i beleve. I got a set of remoulds from Colway that are the BF pattern, they where well priced. Seems cheeper to buy the tyres fitted to the wheels than it is to have them done seperatly (unless you got a good set of boosters)

If you're looking at Colway's, definately get them from http://www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk/

They're the cheapest place I found, give them a call and they'll price you up a 5 or 4 rim/tyre deal. They let you choose from modular or 8 spoke and black grey or white, only charge something minimal like £5 for next day delivery, it cost me about £400 for 5x Colway MT 265x75 with rims, balanced, and fitted with next day delivery.
