First question.... not sure without looking. You have got the correct hinges??

Spare wheel holder... the door hinges (and the tailgate) won't last that long with the weight of the wheel hanging off them. You could really do with a swingaway wheel carrier... rather than just fitting the wheel straight onto the back door.

Freelander wheel carrier... could possibly be made to fit, but the studs are completely the wrong PCD... i.e. they won't line up with the holes in your wheels. Also, not sure it would be strong enough.

I have a swing tail gate if you want some pics of the tailgate take a look in the work in progress threads or I can take a close up later tonight.. Closes flush for me!

Your thread title will get Mungo all flustered and excited!!:D
Could you try putting some shims or washers between the tailgate and lower hinge to try and stop the bottom if the tailgate sticking out?
Also you would probably be better off fitting a swing away carrier for the spare wheel to prevent killing the hinges and latch on the tailgate! The only downside to some of the swing away type carriers is that they can make a bit of a chore of opening the tailgate!

Ada, I've been looking for a solution to the spare wheel problem for a while and have settled on the following (subject to the usual available cash restraints  )

It's a Kaymar swing away wheel carrier, mounts on the chassis and NOT any higher up, and is supposedly bombproof in terms of long term durability. The pics came from the guy whose rather nice DC110 featured in one of the Landy mags 3 or 4 months back (can't remember which one).

What do you think?
