Cats

Why do some folk get all in a strop when cats are mentioned in a less than favourable manner? After all, they serve no earthly purpose but to cr@p in your (NON cat owning) garden.

Personally, I think it was wrong for that woman to put a cat in a washing machine - after all, it would cost an awful lot of money to get someone in to fix the pump with all that fur clogging it;)

Flameproof clothing is now on. Discuss:D

Glad you think it was wrong to treat a cat or any animal like that i cant stand to see any animal ill treated cats are a very clean animal and do serve a purpose {they catch mice dont they??} :)

Over the years cats have been discussed on here more than Land Rovers, or it seems like it, and even a confirmed feline hater like myself starts to get a bit bored of it after a bit:o

cheers, Tim

You can catch mice with an air rifle. :)

yes good point.....you can also use it to catch the cat ;)

cats are okay...nothing against them really appart from the fact that mine wipes it's bum on the carpet, eats my clothes, scratches every vertical surface in site and then when he's tired proceeds to lick his pre-wiped bum while i'm eating my tea!....on the whole a really nice animal to share a house with :D

I got lumbered with my exes cat. We share a passing existance. I come home from work and let it in for food. It eats has a snooze on the other side of the sofa, then goes out when I go to bed!

Brought me a rat for breakfast the other day which was pleasent.. But other than that I have a very easy going relationship with my cat!

Course if it didn't come home one day I wouldn't be to bothered!

Cats are ok(ish) but I wouldn't want one at home.

Dogs however are a totally different prospect.............hate the things!!!
I know that there's loads of canine people on here but they just don't do it for me at all. Inconvenient, expensive, crap everywhere, dig holes, chew things, smell rancid, hard work.........I could go on.
Horrible things and those big slobbery dogs..................................why???????????
I get a lot of passing dog walkers where I live and I often look at them in dismay and wonderment as to why they bother.:D
Mans best friend...........I think not!!!!!

Utterly minging creatures.

Think some people may disagree there.. Mate wouldn't be without his dog.. but he uses it for hunting, not many cats would be up for chasing foxes :P

no i dont like cats because they eat my clothes and scratch the house to bit's.....then it wipes it's bum in stuff.....it doesn't get told what to do, it gets chased..

My Grandpa had a particular dislike for cats.. When he died the kids got to pick a few things from the house. The middle one chose the catapault & the youngest the huge jar of marbles.
It wasn't until the 'do' after the funeral..
Where family had stood round Granny's grave as they began the ceramony (sp?) to lower a small cremated box ontop... that a cat meandered nonchalontly over to the freshly dug soil & started flicking it's tail around the headstone, eyeing up the man made dumping ground & relatives doing their best not to break into giggles at the possibilities.
...anyway.
The marbles were specifc cat ammo. Alas old age & cataracts had long since put a stop to him ever managing to keep them off his patch.
The cats won.

rumours are we have a cat :D big bloody fur ball, only see it when it wants fed, doesnt scratch furniture, crap in house or any other thing cats do lol

Well I've got better things to do than hang around all day and all night in the hope of spotting a mouse and shooting it :D Our cats do a very good job on the mice, and the rabbits. Great animals, very low maintenance and do a really useful job :)

Well said a cat will know there are mice there long before you do and stop a lot of damage being done

I am not a big cat lover, We had a gravel drive put down about a year ago and all the cats in the street use it as a toilet.

They keep leaving effin great scratch marks on SWMBO's car bonnet too. grrrr.

I've seen an owl around the field at the back a few times now, I'd rather see them get the mouse.

:D Yep whenever our Landy arrives home they are straight up onto the nice warm bonnet :D We aren't fussed on the landy, but when we had an 06 Vectra courtesy car, it always got a blanket on the bonnet to stop them scratching it
