connecting to domain

i have 2 standalone systems runnig xp pro that i want to connect to a domain when i join the domain the users profile becomes a blank canvas again. is there a quick way to copy all the settings including mail accounts and passwords etc accross to the new account.
 
Yep, search ms knowledge base about roaming profiles. But will only work if your domain is active directory. Once configured properly you should be able to log onto any domain workstation with that account and have the same functionality.
