I don't really "watch TV" anymore so I'm probably the last person that should be suggesting anything. My TV in the garage pretty much exclusively plays old movies and TV series running on U-toob as I putter around with my projects.
That being said I did recently sit in on a few episodes of "Only Murders in the Building" with my wife as she was watching it on the big TV in the bedroom. I found it to be very entertaining and funny. Worth a watch I'd say. I think it's on Disney but a quick web search will say for sure.

Not particularly current, but enjoyed 'Bosch'.
'Justified' was fun.
Currently catching up with 20 years of 'Silent Witness' on iplayer.
Tried the 'Turkish Detective', set in Istanbul. Good, but the subtitles do my head in.

Currently watching Vikings, I've seen it before but I'm re-watching with my folks. I think the earlier series are the better ones, but the later ones have their moments.
I loved Walking Dead, so much more than I was expecting. I'm rather fond of the post-apocalypse setting so it already appealed, but I liked the fact that it was often used more as a backdrop than the sole focus. Again, the later series got a bit samey.
Breaking Bad was also great. The character arcs in that show are exceptional. Same with Better Call Saul.
All of those I avoided at first. They all seemed mainstream to a silly degree but sometimes things get famous for good reason.

Some others I've enjoyed and feel are a little underrated are, Umbrella Academy, Dirk Gently, Happy (wonderful dark humour in that one), Ash vs Evil dead (really stayed true to the films and I loved it), The Sandman, American Gods (gutted they refuse to finish that one), Altered Carbon.

I watch a lot of stuff thanks to having to take breaks all the damn time. And on the days when I just can't get going I try and settle into something. I usually have something on my second screen while I'm on a game or writing, it's always a good sign when it grabs my attention enough to focus on it

The one that goes the other way is Game of Thrones. I like fantasy but I really didn't see the appeal of that. I was given a box set and watched a few but it just got on my nerves. I've got no idea why it got so much hype. It just seemed intentionally convoluted and up itself.

Must confess I can’t watch film's that have subtitles

Try being married to someone who likes Skandinavian Noir, serial killers, detectives; all subtitles all the time. My eyes are strained from all the reading. Mind you, I'm picking up quite a few language pointers. 🤓
They take their own sweet time developing the story as well. The original series of "The Killing" 20 episodes long but a fascinating yarn all the same
Or the talent of the female lead in all series of "The Bridge"

I quite like a skandie noir the problem with subtitles is you can’t fridge raid or nip to the loo without missing something if it’s in English you can at least hear what’s going on 😀

I quite enjoyed Greyhound recently, Tom Hanks is captaining an escort for a WW2 transatlantic convoy, while being hunted by a submarine pack. It's very tense but doesn't really feel like it's trying to be, it just is? Very well done, good film that had me on the edge of my seat.

also found the latest avatar film even better than the first , think it was an incredible film that Cameron produced

Maybe he’s trying to catch up to spielburg

Plus 1 to the greyhound film by Spielberg , think Schindler's List and jaws are his best films ,

Finch, that's good.
