Defender on a Crane

Driving through Cottenham on the way to work in Cambridge this morning I saw a massive crane (largest I've seen) in the front garden of a house on the road to Histon.

A crew were just putting lifting strops on a newish Dark blue defender 110...... I couldn't stop to ask but now I'm burning with curiosity. Anyone know what was going on?

Possibly putting it in the back garden if its terraced.

I do on the other hand have a Crane on my Defender

Maybe the crane is stuck and they need the Defender to pull it out.

must admit it is surprising what you see now a days, only the other day, I heard a noise in the sky, looked up and there was a landrover practicing low level flying............

Some good answers there........this morning the crane has gone and the defender's on the drive...........perhaps the owner was looking for an easy way to waxoyl the underside........?

Guess I'll never know the truth.
