Disco Roof Box

has anyone had experience of mountong a long ski carrying roof box onto the fitted roof rails of a disco 2. Am i correct in thinking that the box may be too long?

i have used a halford roof box on mine using halfords cross bars fitted to the disco roof rails, i think that the long ski boxes would probably be too long to fit because the roof rails ar not long enough to allow the cross bars to be spaced far enough apart for the longer ski box.

i thought though that land rover did a ski clamp that fits to the roof rails??

others may have found a solution i hope you do:)
 
some Discos where fitted with full length rails i undersood that you could buy these as and on to ...

I cant remember how much the bars are rated to but i remember it was not a huge amount so it could be with looking that up to

Hi, a halfords ski box will fit. The pictures are my disco with the ES premium tubular bars. It's also been on a freinds d2 with the smaller bars. It does overhang the bars front and back too much really and creates a fair bit of drag over the windscreen. i wouuldn't trust it for much weight. I only use it for a pram etc in the winter to free up space for santa's goodies in the car when using the 7 seats.

Hi Sherk what did you use to go onto your es premium tubular bars? I'm looking at putting a roof box on mine and I'm struggling to find the correct bars to fit. Any help would be great.
