do n reg micras have a flywheel ignition sensor?

iff its flooded as said foot right down disconect the air box and pull the brake servo vac pipe out. the more air in more chance it'll start. alan.....

Is it carb or EFi?

Nissans of that age with fuel injection are notorious for the MAF (mass airflow meter) to screw up, causing intermitant starting problems and in-even running, before packing up completely.

cheers guys ,i took off the filter then i just put my foot to the floor and went for it.
it kicked a few times before starting but it took a while.
its a carb engine but on the back under the carb there is 4 plugs , one on each cylinder with wires coming from them , not sure what thats all about.
i think it just needs a good service.

Carb? Are you certain?

My brother has a N plate 1.0l Micra, and it's single point EFi, closed loop.

Sometimes it can be a pig to start in the cold, it floods. How on earth does an EFi flood? Well there is a known issue with them, I don't have the details handy, but it's something to do with a piece of wiring loom to the engine termperature sensor. There is a mod kit issued by Nissan, bro has never bothered his backside to get it as a; he hardly uses the car b; he's too tight c; if it doesn't start he pinches mum or dads car.

Odd.

My brother car is very definitely a mono point injection system, like many other small/medium size cars of the time.

The injector housing does look no unlike carb though, in that it's kinda lumpy and sits on top of the inlet manifold, with the air filter perched on top, and various pipes and wires heading in and out of it.

yup , thats the one.
thinking maybee giving the aa a call , they might not be able to fix it but they might at least be able to tell me whats wrong with it.

thanks m8y, now all i need to know is , is it a single point micra , whats an air flow meter and how do i clean it.
and where do i put this resistor?

cheers fella.
ive hadf a plug out and its flooding , in fact there is puddles of fuel down on the piston head.
