dynamo replacement

against my better judgement i agreed to help mate change his s11 from dynamo to alternator ,can any1 telll me what i need and how easy (or hard) it is thanks
 
you'll need an alternator :rolleyes:

is it positive earth? I've seen a comprehensive write up on how to do this, including changing from positive earth on MGB forums - google it.
