Edlebrock V8 inlet manifold modification for water jacket

Which manifold?

I have a JWR/Offenhauser on mine, and the cooling flow is not great. Struggles to get up to temp in winter, but spend a bit of time in traffic and it's soon over-hot. The old SU manifold was much better.
I fiddled about with stats, 88 too hot 82 too cold, currently I have an 82 with two holes drilled in it.
Must admit I never thought whether I could add a bleed line. Hmmm.

If you're thinking about the Performer, yes some people do drill that boss and run a purge line to the header tank, random example here. in Pete Wirth's post.

I was thinking of the Sumo modification where you drill two 7mm holes behind the thermostat into the water jackets apparently solves the problem completely
