excess fuel rod?

someone has suggested that this excess fuel rod may have seized up in my TD lump. does anybody have a scooby where it is located on the injection pump? :(

This is the best I can do I'm afraid. No mention of an excess fuel rod though, unless it's one of the internal parts. You don't mean the spill return pipe from the injectors do you?

Unless it's a part He knows by a different name, I have no idea what He is talking about.

Excess fuelling on a DPA is by holding the stop back and the governor rod setting the fuelling.

Have a look on these and see if He can point out which bit He means.

He does say its on a TD engine & TD uses a DPS pump not DPA, which is a bit different. Is the excess fuel rod that is referred to actually the link from the boost valve? if so how can it sieze as its inside the pump flooded with diesel fuel.:)

Good point, CCK, but the DPS is pretty much the same internally, apart from the stop solenoid and its drillings, (and I haven't got a DPS internals picture to hand).
