Extended warranty

Trekker
Any experiences of Land Rovers extended warranty?
I've been quoted £1250 for the year. Has anyone tried negotiating this cost?
The car is my lifeline as I can only drive with the adaptions/ autobox. Landrover assistance "reads" very good too (although I've never used it).
Cheers

hi shrek,

i was going to take out the landy one but when i recoiled at the price my dealer suggested taking out their own offering, they reckon it covers the same as the landy one and includes a recovery option, it cost me £1000 for three years which i thought was not bad value, its insurance backed, as of yet i have not had to use it so dont have any feedback but it's worth looking at, dealers were lloyds at carlisle.

P.P.

Cheers, I missed this as I've not logged on for a while

Need to decide this week about the warranty. With the potential gearbox and turbo problems the disco's going in for I'm tempted to go for the genuine warranty. All include breakdown cover.
4 options:
1. £776 covers all major mechanic (no air con, turbo or suspension) parts up to £1000 per claim.
2. £894 cover all major mechanical (no air con, turbo or suspension) parts up to £3000 per claim
3. £ 1,164 covers almost all mechanical and electriacal parts (no turbo) unlimited claims
4. £1,244 extension of 3 year warranty (all parts) unlimited claims.

Anyone had any experience of how claims are handled?
Anyone got a crystal ball??

Cheers, Shrek

Shrek,

Would it not be better to find a good local garage to maintain your vehicle Instead of paying up front for something you may not need?
