F@&€ing couriers

I would rather shop local than bother with delivery companies,
When the local independent traders have been forced out of business by so many folk buying online just to save a small % then it will get worse for sure,
Unfortunately we have reached that point . The last proper car spares shop closed 6 months ago. A real Aladdins cave with a dark area he would disappear into and come back out with a dusty box 👍
Land Rover dealers are useless for Series Parts.
I really don’t know where my nearest proper shop is now.

Quick update on my latest DHL debacle - 30 mile round trip to the 'local' depot - collected my Defender parts - packaging torn - parts poking through - scraped corners - bare metal showing
Luckily it a part which will not show and was going to be given an extra coat of paint anyway so not returned.
Complained to DHL. Branch manager couldn't even be bothered to call back. Apparently this depot has 150 vehicles and currently operating with just over 70 drivers. Great planning coming up to the Xmas rush.

Do you guys not have Aramex in the UK?

If you took the very parts parts of every courier place in the world and combined them... That's Aramex.

Yes, Aramex head office is in Slough.

Problem here, in my location at least, is every courier service uses sub contractors. So in my location things seem to get to Dundee, or Inverness, then get handed to another courier. That's where it falls down. The tracking shows as delivered, as it's been handed off to another carrier.

I had some parts being delivered by Tuffnells. On the day of delivery I actually saw the lorry on its way up the A9 as I was heading south. About an hour later I got a text saying the delivery had been made. The parts turned up three days later, with a courier from Thurso. I actually asked Tuffnells to track the delivery and it was them that told me that handing over to another delivery agent counts as delivery!

There you have it.

Found a nice radio with some minor wiring corrections required to be tip top.
See what royal smash did to it. That wil cost me at least £60 in parts probably more.
What aerosols. Mustve had a game of football ….
