Freelander 2 whining noise

Jonjo201992

First Gear
Hi, hoping you can help.
I have a 2010 freelander 2 automatic.
When accelerating there is a whining noise usually louder when running at normal temp. Car runs ok, it’s just the noise bugs me, what could it be?
I have heard it could be an overtightened pinion bearing?

Think you gonna need to be more specific.
Engine, underneath, wheels ?
General advice is to try and narrow down the area it coming from and check from there.

BTW if it whirring, that sounds like something spinning, so check such parts, wheels, belts, pulleys.
Check with engine off first, with engine running keep appendages away.
Whistling could be turbo' or hoses.
