Some very serious boys toys on show:) Hows the tank going? You opened up an more tracks?

Just watched it again and noticed this

Prestatyn TA REME attempt to recover a stranded FV432, video set to an Oasis soundtrack. ... :D :D :D

Nice direction as always Matt :)

this was filmed 3 weeks agon, at that time they failed, the boys came back yesterday and managed to get the thing out into the open.

The main obstacle being that the vehicle has thrown the left track and it is wedged between the hull and the road wheels.

As far as they're concerned, they have fullfilled their offer to recover the vehicle, now it's over to us to get the track back on, but guess what, we've done it once before , so i'm fairly confident we'll manage it again.

As far as you guys coming over, it would be good to see you all again, i spot Daves truck every time i go to Llandudno, he even drove straight past me one day last week caked in the sticky stuff.

AH I didnt realise it was one of your tanks .I thought it was one the reme brought with them for practice...mmmmmm that was awfully good of them to offer their sevices...

Ill ask when Dave and Guy can make it and we`ll pop over for a brew:p

catch ya soon

That would have been good to see - what did they do different this time or was the ground a bit firmer with the cold?

Yep be good to see what you've done with the place:D :D

My little truck does stand out a little in Llandudno - got it a little muddy last Sunday:D :D :D

hahaha, not guilty this time.

they succeeded by trying a different approach, rather than trying to pull 200 feet uphill (last time) they pulled it 100 feet downhill, funny that.

Also, last time was an indirect pull relying on a snatch block stropped around as many as 6 trees but it kept uprooting them due to the shallow roots, this time a wrecker was manouvered in to get a direct pull with the ecxeption of having to use a snatch block just to redirect the main lain rather trying to bend it round a corner.

What isn't featured in the video is a strop with a 25ton capacity, going twang, it was actually much louder than 'twang' but you get the idea.

They even managed to pull a track off the priestman 360, i suspect the return visit was one of regaining their pride and proving they could do it, that said, someone else was in charge.

LOL - that sounds like fun - hope they had a winch sail:eek:  :D

By eck Matt was only thinking about you guys last night!! How freaky!

Glad to see things are still getting muddy down in the woods. Can't believe it has been nearly a year since we were all down there and you made the other film of us!!!! Still a superb video that and set to a brilliant track!

I did hear through the island grapevine that you were having troubles with locals complainging about noise levels. Couldn't see this though as you are quite a way from residences!!

So what vehicles do you have now? Is my favourite T34 tank working yet?

Have often thought about just popping down to the forest on the off chance that you'd be there!

That brings back memorys spent 4yrs on Chieftain,Centurian and 432's
its amazin what the reme guys can pull out with them Fodens

Geoffs

What were they like in the woods? the first part of the sequence is the REME recovering their own wrecker they tried taking into the woods but failed.

Geo, i'd be interested to hear more about this grapevine, we have taken a pro-active approach to noise until our planning application goes through but for the most part this applies to pyrotechnics. you'd be hard pressed to hear any vehichle noise from within the depths.

I think someone will be there almost every saturday from now on to try and get things organized for 2007

Excellent, I'd love to pop down and have a natter. Suspect Dave and Gez would too!!
