I tried to update my second (games) machine, it has been running under windows 2000, to windows xp when the program stop and comes up with a code error!
What is that all about? :shake:
It turns out that windows xp, with service pack, screws up the code when you try to update an older version of windows.:fire:
I contacted microsoft and was told that I would need to buy a new copy of xp! I explained that I had a copy and did not wish to spend a fortune on another copy,:banghead2 tough says microsoft you can't up date your system.:Bloodymad. It appears that you can load xp onto a blank HD with no trouble. I don't think I will be buying the new software from them.

If its a OME copy then yes it can only be installed on a claen HDD. If its a retail or upgrade copy then yes you can upgrade to XP.

Cheers mate, I have sorted it out. I formated an old disc of mine and put it on that.
