Genuine or aftermarket UJ?

Providing its from a known source/make then an aftermarket could be better than the genuine part in my experience. It is desireable that it is cheaper than a genuine part. But mainly I look for quality, i.e. generally if from an untraceable manufacturing source it could fail quickly. Also go for ones with grease nipples & not sealed for life, where available.

Hardy Spicer or GKN (both the same GKN own H.S), all the others are pants. They come with grease nipples too, don't get one without else you can't grease them:rolleyes:

Cheers, Ben

you can often tell by looking at them as the crap ones usually have shorter rollers and the cups are not so deep and yes you really want grease nipples

If you open a genuine UJ box up you will find a nice shiny GKN UJ inside it, minus the grease nipple.. Land Rover expect you to pay extra for that.

I just had two replaced. One from Hardy spicer and a genuine one (the latter without nipples, since LR doesn't fit them out with nipples anymore to save the environment..... ;-))
