Accelerating Away
Having watched David Attenborough on the TV last night warning of the dangers of G B, I have the following questions before I scrap my Series two's and have them imported as Chinese Cars.

1) Is the earth currently nearer to the sun than it was a few years ago.

2) If the Antarctic sea warms up inthe summer and melts the ice in the summer, then when the sun goes away in the winter surely the sea freezes and the ice comes back. 6 months thaw 6 months freeze. Where's the problem.

3) I read somewhere that the Vikings called Greenland, "Greenland" because thats what it was, so it must have got colder to become covered in ice, therefore the planet was warmer in the middle ages, yes??

These are just three of the anomalies I can see so far, perhaps someone on here can help convince me that this G B is not some political jiggery pokery, to get more money out of us

I think they called it Greenland to try and convince people to move there. It was a bit of Nordic 'marketing'......
 
Ever since visiting Iceland, I've had it in mind that the two countries should declare some sort of moratorium and exchange names. There is little or no ice in Iceland and very little green in Greenland.

They should rename Iceland, "Stinkland". The water smells of sulphur (rotten eggs) due to being heated via geothermal shennanigans*.
I blamed the smell on the girlfriend at the time :)

*shennanigans is a real word.... describing technical wizadry
 
Here's my tupence worth;
According to the self proclaimed experts we have had 7 ice ages, only one when man has been on the planet, sensible people would tend to think that unless cave men had access to 4x4s, holidays abroad etc, that if global warming exists it is a NATURAL cycle that WILL happen despite how much the social workers, sorry, government attempt to extort out of you, in a sly under hand way, while trying to make it sound as if its doing you a favour.
The self proclaimed experts are, for the most part funded by the social workers, sorry, government, the worse they say it is, the more funding they get to investigate.

If the word global mean's world wide, why is it the Great British tax payer has to foot the bill to put it right?

It seem's to me that the current dictatorship would have us believe that every event is caused by global warming.
 
Only 98% of global warming is caused by British 4x4 drivers. The other 2% is caused by the heat coming off the Daily Mail printing press

Tony decides to have a war (or 2) ... needs paying for ..... UK people not in favour of war so wouldnt be happy paying extra ..... scare them crapless about something and they will pay extra for that ..... syphon it off ..... everybody is happy (well the stupid/nieve people are)

Saving the Planet , Eco Warriors, Envirofriendly, Fossil Fuels, Biodiversity etc. The Cynicism of some people are beyon belief. Next you`ll be telling us Big Bro. is not a true reflection on our society. You prolly think Crop circles are caused by students having a laugh. Honestly.....:eek:

Wow! I was reading the stuff on your link for so long Mike, that the forum logged me off. It is very interesting and thought provoking stuff and the only problem I have with it is; that it matches my suspicions so exactly, that I am forced to be as sceptical about it as I am about the headline, scaremongering, Al Gore type rubbish.

I wonder if Angela (Theoldtrout) has read it? Her opinions would be of interest.

one thing to remember is theres a feed back loop.

the more people there are the more CO2 produced the more food and fuel needed

the more CO2 produced the more food available for plants the more food available for people

or somthing like that plants needing CO2 for food
 
if you look at a map of sea leval for britan for the medeivl period the water leval of the tide was mutch higher weres all the water been in the mean time if see levals are set to rise again
