yes know the feeling i had to pick up a pallet of cement and 30 sheets of 1/2 inch ply and the cement was put on to the trailer at the front and the ply on the back, landy sat down on the bump stops and the tyres looked like i was ready to go trialling!! could only do 15 mph as the back end started to go from side to side so pulled into petrol station, hit the brakes loud screech from the front end as the wheels locked, got some attention i can tell you, had to put 70 lbs in the rears after that it weren't bad except i could only do20 as every little road imperfection felt like the bottom was going to drop out........keith

me and my dad towed 3 tons of peat one summer. twisted the tow bar and snapped two wheels off the trailer :o took the landy abck to land rover (under warrenty) and they gave us a new tow bar :D:D

Now you know why landrovers have a flat bonnet with a lip at each side: 'make sure all loads are evenly spread over the vehicle'....shame you wouldn't see much though :)

Charlie did you know that you can still go round the bottom half of the devils elbow ,if you look for the gap in the safety fencing and go over the edge you pick up the old road and come back to the main road a few hundred yards further down ,much easier to see on the uphill and probably safer ,the road was christened satans slide when it was realigned about 30 years ago and sadly it has claimed several lives in that time
with a load like that were you down in to second ?
