Hello from Mozambique

Hello everyone. I'm in the bush in central Mozambique. Stealing satellite time to log on.;)

Hot as hell, and humid. Lots of mosquitos.

Gotta go....

Cheers,
Marc

looks lovely, but I guess there is always a down side.
Have you considered a business selling airconditioners?

Roger, the place I'm in at the moment is a total dump. It's on the only piece of crappy coastline in the whole country, the wind pumps from the ocean, and we're surrounded by mosquito swamps. It's the only place in Mozambique I actually dislike with a passion. The original photo I attached was taken about 8 hours north of here, where the beaches are excellent.

The only reason we're here is that there are loads of precious minerals in the sand here. When this plant is commisioned it is likely to generate 6% to 8% of the entire country's income.

I've attached two photographs. The first is the airplane we flew in on. It's a Fairchild Metro, the second is a photo of the staff quarters.

Thank the stars I'm going home today! The plane should be here at about 1pm, and then it's a 4.5 hour flight (with a stop in Beira for customs, immigration, and refuelling) back to Johannesburg.

Cheers,
Marc
