Help on Tow bars

Can anyone help ??


I have to source a Tow bar fitter...Local if pos..

Problem i have is i need a firm who can fabricate one to fit a Ford Transit tipper which the chassi has been cut a bit shorter to fit Tipper on it hense not retaining Holes at the end..

I owned a tipper with a towbar. try the local breakers
 
Not possible anymore legally:rolleyes: as ALL towbars fitted now need to be eu type approved.

yes but the chassis rail it is bolted to doesn't have to be. as long as it is strong enough to take the stresses imposed on it. He needs to get someone to modify the chassis rails or weld a new cross rail in so that tow bar can be bolted to it.

True,
But he was asking for a company to make him a tow bar, not modify his vehicle to accept a type approved tow bar :p
 
Looks like you gave me an idea bud..

modify chassi to make tow bar fit..cheers

mine had a drop plate on the inside of each chassis leg just before(working from front to back) the pivot point on the tipper bed, and a 6"x3" steel box section. connecting them together.
