i cannot close my bonnet, i think the cable has stretched from the pulley on the passanger side and therefore the clasp wont shut. any thing I can do to close the bonnett securely??
First make sure the catch is well oiled or greased, as most times if it won't latch it is dry and rusted.
Move the cable - and use WD or similar on that to get it moving properly.
There should also be a spring in there doing the locking - and possible that has broken.
See if you can move the locking bar in the catch or get it to move. This will point out if it is the spring or siezed solid.
wd 40 and got the cover off the latch. lots of spray and moving... 2 mins later all sorted thanks... Greens motors would have charged loads for that!! charged me 1700 for an alternator!! not paid going to court over it as they think it is reasonable.. this site is awesome!!
