I wrote off my 90 on the Croisiere Blanche

Sounds like it should be a song! Great work from Sibbo90 and his mate during the week so ta for that. Brilliant time, had a French film crew with us for a day which was good and then my mate rolled my 90 three times - he made a mistake obviously but not as big as mine in letting him drive! Turned it back up right, left it 5 mins and then it started straight away and we drove it 20k back to the resort - was minus 13 though and a bit parky without windscreen and windows (heater was still working but larging ineffective). I got away with a scratch on the hand and marks from the seatbelts although my mate had a badly bruised ego :) Just need to get it back from France now!!!

Am I seeing right, no roll cage:eek: , and the roof pillars stayed intact(ish).
Lucky guys.
Mike

Yep indeed - was the one thing we were worried about on the way down. Roof rack seemed to take most of the force and thankfully we had a guard between the cab and the back which had loads of equipment in it. And yes sibbo90's mate was grumbleweed - should have said.

Update to this.

Sibbo and i went down on Thursday to get the camel back from France and re-patriate it onto my driveway to be rebuilt.

After 1500 miles and too many boiled sweets, she is now sitting on my driveway waiting for some new panels.

Mechanically it is still perfect and started first time when we jumped it back in france. Amazing.

I really need if anyone has some bits for it- a windscreen surround and screen, complete Roof and sides (pref with windows) and couple of doors

I am selling both of my other landies to fund it - rangie is up for swapping for bits and the SIIa is up for a grand. Spread the word.

If anyone has any ideas of where i can get these bits QUICKLY and CHEAPLY please let me know.

Will keep you updated with the restoration.

SAVE THE CAMEL FUND- PLEASE HELP!!

The guv'nor don't look too happy there fella!

What road in Ashford are you? [I'm in Sunbury] might drive by tomorrow just out of morbid curiosity. :o

Am on fairholme road.
There is NO roll cage fitted to it- the roof took all the impact. much stronger than i thought!!

Will be in this evening if you want to come have a look!!

She don't look too bad considering she rolled 3 times! I put mine on its side 18months ago, bent the door (and my hand!) and dented the wing, thought that was from the bull bar bending into it but she was fine. Knocked the wing out and bent the door back a bit and thats how she is now.
The door is knackered though, the frames all bent. I've got a 'new' (to me) s/h one to go on once I've sprayed it:)

Ah hell fellas such a shame, glad you're both ok though. I know it is a tragedy but heck well done for using it as it was meant to be used!

So when is the french film crew gonna release the incident in technicolour?

There is a film of events straight afterwards of me and sibbo getting back onto its wheels. Poor old thing looked really battered.

I am going to take her back there next year to complete the event.

Will keep a photo diary on here so you can all mock my progress!!

DOes anyone know how to go about getting a car back on the road after it ahd been written off- i think they gave it a b cat- was a french engineer who assessed it and didn't look at the chassis at all. There is no sign of trauma on the chassis whatsoever.
