Bilge rat 1

Big Landy Fan
not been on for a while , was on with yahoo , asked for a faster speed to which they agreed. they then cut us off with no reason. and even took money out of our account after doing it. we now have dropped talk talk and gone to bt so we can go to a fater speed broadband, this was the 22nd of dec, still not on line just on dial up costing more than what we would like and slow to. now been promised to go on line 15th jan . been on the phone about 6 hours in total. one prob after another. now waiting to the 15th to see iff all is ok. got the modem and filter were ment to be going on the 4th but it was cancelled for no reason . any one else had probs or is there a better system ment to be on option 1 , 9.99 for 6th months then 15.99. does this sound good iff we ever get it ?. alan.....

On BT option 1 here in Pembrokeshire and it flies, a lot quicker than I had with NTL on cable in Derby:rolleyes: It does die occasionally but rebooting the router box usually sorts the prob, but then I had that with NTL too. Quite happy with it:)

cheers, Tim

Been with BT boradband from the start, and can say that at first it was a problem, but only the odd cut out of the system, which a swicth off and restart of the router solved. Not had to do that now for well over a year now.

Though you will always find somone who has had problems with any service provided by any company. Once you find one that works for you, you just stick with them I think...

My parents have BT Broadband for as long as I can remember, and it's been great for them. Never goes wrong and they up the speed every so often, which is nice.

Im with NTL as they were the cheapest for a tv/broadband/telephone package. Don't find their service to clever but to go for seperate suppliers will cost me too much!

we are with wanadoo (taken over now by orange)

its fairly fast only prob it ushually on cutting out and i have to click the internet connect button.

with Bt, the router plays up now and then, flashes for a couple of hours then we can get on line..once its stopped:eek:

cheers guys, may give them a chance then. last time was told will be back on b/band 15 jan.the router has lights on the front the sdl light doesnt light up but think this is because the line isnt activated yet ?. cheers, alan.....

Signed up with telefonica (spanish equivalent of BT). Horror stories abound here but you have to pay the line charge anyway, so decided to bite the bullet. They gave me a date for connection, and router delivery. About 15 days.
Router arrived after the weekend ie in 4 days. Connected straightaway. Router seemed a bit iffy - ADSL connection fine, but internet connection not, so got it changed, and again, and again. Actually at one point we had a light for ethernet and ADSL but nothing for internet or connected (encendido whatever that is in English). There was clearly an electrical connection because all the other lights were on and so was the surge protector.

The earlier routers sounded like Ada 110s - lights flashed but no connection. New router, and for more than a week we have had what we are paying for ie 24 hr access to internet. Dear, but good service. If you have any problems, keep going back to them, it's not your problem, you are paying for a service and you should receive it. Good luck. K

have BT broadband since August and so far no problems before it was pay as you go with yahoo and that was terrible.

been waiting for broadband for 4 years and 2 since we tired to sign up for it know of several members of our local landy club who would like it but been told could be years before it comes to thier area

only thing concerns me is the lost of the BT line we lost ours due to a junction box failure and were without it for 3 weeks. getting BT to respone to the problem itself took a week never got compenstion or reduction in rental.

I've been on BT Business broadband for 3 years and no problems apart from paying for BT Yahoo for two of them along side my buisness package.

Moved from AOL residential service and the only way they could get me to buisness (needed a fixed ip) was to take me throuh their residential service.

Only prob is they forgot to cancel the res ervice.

All sorted out in the end though

Am with BT broadband.

Moved in July major cockups, mind you BT have given me 4 refunds, free digital ansaphone and extra handset.

Engineer out, new home hub, new new home hub, which had trebbled conection speed and no more disconnects.

Keep complaining to BT, ask for incident no, and phone back to quote it ask for manager you get there, on phone calls + internet should at least break even this year!!

part of the problem is the call centers are in India, even the BT engineer who came out had problems speaking to them, There was a internet site which listed which companies used Indian call centres, they seem the be the ones everyone complains about, although the site gone now i would not use these firms for insurance, banking etc.
