well i'm off to do a little bit of last minute "revision" for me OBESRVER course tomora down at Eastnor Castle, still gotta get me head around this diff-lock thingy.....catch ya tommra night

well i passed but only just...its was alot harder than i thought..its easay to drive round Eastnor, but talk a complete stranger thru it HARD...driving whilst talking your way around the estate, you need to be 3 cars infront of ya self always seeing whats coming up and how to approach it, what gear, where the wheels should be ,what damage you could cause and what your having for T..so that was the morning sorted , during lunch a brief lesson on what a diff-lock and diff do...(still no idea) then the afternoon i was given a "novice" to instuct round..,only the main man of Eastnor experiance....well didn't go to well but managed to get thru it...Another thing whilst i was there they were testing the 2007 110...the main man got me the keys and let me have a look around it...VERY NICE..:)

Well done Ada mate, i am trying to talk me parents into getting me the Level 1 course for my 18th birthday, would love to do all the bits you've done!

Diff Lock? Does what it says on the tin?
Locks the centre diff I believe, are they not fully automated on the latest RRs and Discos?

I expect someone on here can give a clear and simple explanation of how they work.

Does it all by itself on my Rangie, one of them viscous beasties!
