Lamp Guard Holes

thebadger

In Second Gear
Hi,

I have just taken some lamp guards of my 54 plate 90 and now i am planning to fill the holes, particularly those at the front.

I have had a trawl through the posts already posted and will probably use filler for those below the lights with some kind of plate fixed to the rear.

The problem comes to those above the lights where an odd fixing (to me anyway) has been used. It is like a female screw fitting has been used, clamping each side of the alloy plate. How do i take these out to repair as above??

or is it easier to replace the sections, if so what are the pieces required called??

On the side, i am looking to replace the fibre glass piece to which the grille fixes and the defender logo stuck. what is this part called and is it easy to source?

Thanks.

they are called rivnuts. I did the same on a 90 I used to own when I fitted a winch bumper that fouled the light guards. When I removed the light guard I just got some stainless pan head screws and screwed them into the rivnut its cheap and simple and didnt look too bad
