Land rover specialists in Leeds area (head gasket)

Fired Landy up yesterday (18L) and unusual noise so turned engine off, checked water expander bottle and this required 2l's of water (never needed water before) and oil looking browny. Checked oil, water etc on weekly basis and not noticed anything before.

Looks as though its the head gasket, does anyone know of a decent Land Rover specialist in the Leeds area? Covered by a warranty but upto a maximum of £45 a hour labour and dealers charge £75 a hour (At least Dick turpin used a mask)

Don't know how far you can get, but Simmonites might be worth a call.

Taken it to fourplus4 in leeds.

Make sure they fit the new type multi layer gasket... and the rest of the upgrade kit that goes with it!!!

Also... I'd make sure they check the cylinder liner heights at the very least!!

Only just read your message, just had head gasket replaced had to have new cylinder head too and he sorted rear subframe bolt fixing captive nut had loosened.Best service i've ever had only charges £25 p/h if any probs check him out at www.landroverspecialists.co.uk guy is called Brian garage is Green Oval and is just off roundabout at bottom of Churwell Hill Leeds
