Long time no post

Steve/Exeter

Overdrive!
Hello folks .

Its been a long time since I have posted here (sounds like a confession )

I have been too long without my Land Rover fix so I thought I would drop in and say hello .

Unfortunately I no longer have the 109 :(

After a spell of the illness I was no longer able to turn the steering so she had to go , bloody shame though .( I loved that big bus )

Since I last posted I have moved out of Exeter and back home to Bolton so a big land rover would be just too much for my wife to handle around town so I have gone all modern and bought a Renault laguna .
Its a nice driver friendly car but I dont have a big grin on my face when I drive it

Sorry to hear of your problem Steve, but the answer is not a Eurobox; get a Disco. Whatever anyone says, the Discovery I or II is still a real Land Rover and I certainly drive round with a big grin on my face. Ask Ada110crew and Toppa where I've put mine!

Roger.

We did seriously think about a Discovery or a freelander but the main driver in our house is the wife and she decided that they were too big for her .

When I had the 109 we also had a vauxhall corsa so she never had to drive anything "too big " we could also afford two cars and we cant now .

But we are in the process of having a driveway to replace our front garden so maybe a tax exempt 88 might just appear under our front window awaiting restoration

Nah! The Disco's a big pussy cat, lovely to drive - even in London - and don't forget; all the hysteria about 'Chelsea Tractors' is about women who cannot drive properly anyway (I don't generalise here), tooling round in the London boroughs in Rangies and Discos.

An 88? Attaboy!

Exactly women who cant drive properly And I married one :) :)

For me personally a Land rover has to have a split screen and leaf springs .

If the 109 had power steering and I had somewhere to store it for a whle I would have kept it but it was just not possible .

I sometimes have trouble steering my van for work (Renault master ) but fortunately my employers are very understanding of my problem and let me change duties untill the period of numbness in my hands has passed .

The freelander is actually only about 2 inches longer than our Rover 25, and this means it would actually be shorter than the Renault she is currently driving around in.... :)

This fact was brought to my attention by my wife who has a freelander park next to her in the carpark, and made her think maybe we should conside one as the replacement for the 25 in the future...
