Shifting Up
ive been offered a lpg unit i was going to fit in on my range rover its a 3.5 carb model , does any one know how much it will have to get fitted and do i need any special insurance cover

Yes you will need to inform your insurance and I expect you're have some difficulty finding someone to fit it and or give you a safety certificate if you fit it yourself, there not hard to fit its just plumbing really. Please don't be put off check around first you may be lucky and find a fitter who will help.
Generally they don't like fitting second hand equipment.
Good luck

Whilst the fitting may be, "nuts, bolts and drilling" the difficult part is setting it up properly afterwards - this is rarely done properly.

Some insurers don't want to see a safety or installation cert for lpg. I didn't have one as I bought the car and a previous owner had converted it but not retained the cert. I think I'm with NorwichUnion and they were cheap with online quote, but there was nowhere to inform of lpg, so I phoned and was told they were not bothered about lpg installations and it affected the premium/policy in no way.

Here is a list of insurers who WANT a cert http://www.lpga.co.uk/LPGA.htm
