Mini-Expedition :) But where?

You can camp for free at my farm if you are in a Landy.....only 650 miles from the UK , in a forest with wild boar and deer in the garden , great beer , lovely lakes....Everyone who has come here from the UK has wanted to come again....Poland...give it a go....i did once...now i live here.....

That's a very kind offer Wildrover883 , but I think he may have taken his holiday by now.;) Don't be surprised if you don't get a reply from him. The original question was asked over 2 years ago and he hasn't been around here since last summer.

Well if people want to consider mini expeditions, Eastern Europe is a great place. People are friendly although English is not often spoken amongst the older people there.

Baltic countries are good as well for a couple of weeks trip.

Scandinavia is also good although slightly longer times of 3 to 4 weeks are needed for a mini trip.

OK original post might be a couple of years ago but people are always looking for ideas.

Regards

Brendan

hmmm is poland on route to bulgaria? knew i shoulda paid attention in geography or european studies lol. Anyhow its one of the places on my list to go, i like the sound of the cheap beer there :D

I think going through Hungary and Rumania would be the shortest route , but you could take a slight detour through Poland , if you want to , or if you are really crap at map reading....Poland has some lovely countryside , the food and beer is cheap and good , and you can camp at my place for free if you pass this way...I am about 130 kms from the German border , so at the north western side of Poland....

Derrrr i didn,t notice the date , but never mind , the offer is open to anybody passing my way...

I always check the thread even if I set it up 2 years ago :) I think the online term is 'Lurking' haha

Every year is a new one! :)

I have a two week holiday coming up in a few weeks. I'll take a UK one then as a warm up, then in the summer holidays I'll be talking a long one. A month or so :) Keep them coming !

we could have a LRUK trip out to ya in Poland...make a week of it...Travel one weekend, spend the week, then travel back the following weekend?

You would be welcome here , lots to see in this area , not so far to the Baltic coast , lots of pretty lakes and forest...I am actually in Drawski national park , so its quite pretty here , and i have plenty of space for camping , having a barbie , and the neighbours are not near enough to be bothered by a bit of noise....The last lot of Landrover people who were here were a party of Germans in Poland for the first time , and on route to the Zakopane mountains...they loved it here...If you want to check out your map , i am actually on the 173 route between the towns of Drawsko pomorskie , and Polczyn zdroj , the nearst town to me being Ostrowice...
If you cross the border at Szczecin its not so far to my place , and i can meet you on the main route so you don,t have to find your way through the smaller roads...
Mind you , if you got as far as Ostrowice , and asked where does the English guy live..? somebody would tell you....

Can someone please tell me why the iranian embassy wont send or give us our passports back, they have had them for 3 weeks now and its 2 weeks to long.
Whats worse is the contact info on there website is no good, try phoning , no answer, tried emailing , no answer , think i will have to pray to allah and see if he can help!!!!!

Well I think you have missed the most obvious place.
I am on the bones of my bum at the moment and our 9 year old son wants to go on an expedition so we are going to Wales on a lads and Dads camping trip loads to do and see, quiet and lively bits.
Oh we even built a truck on the cheap, tent reduced from £40 to £4, full awning now this took a lot of thought and time to design with out spending a fortune, but we did it for £2.91
And yes its a Vitara ,well I just could not get a Landy for £300
It even has a fold out kitchen
