More evidence of our police state

Dorset Police are trying to find and discipline those staff who signed the anti road pricing petition. I wonder if His Tonyness has a hand in this?

The saddest part is that the people signing it actually think it will make a difference to Government Policy.

When it comes to getting it's own way this Goverment reminds me of a spoilt child the more people who tell it that it's wrong the more determined it is to ignore them. The invasion of Iraq is a prime example. They knowingly lied and fabricated the evidence to suit their decison. Just like they did with speed camera's, the NERC act, and they'll do the same with road pricing and any other bill they want to pass.

Having read the article, it's not saying they can't sign the petition, it's just saying they can't use their work email address to sign it. As it's a police force I can empathise with the position and I would imagine it's a breach of contract to use a police email address in this manner.

Misuse of computers and email in the workplace is a huge problem. Five were sacked at my old publishers for abusing email. In the end, the company sent out an edict that email and computers were for office use only. All other activities were not allowed and disciplinary offenses.

We are pretty lenient in work, but it would only take one person to make a mistake and we would revoke all rights!

That's my interpretation too. they're not being punished for voicing an opinion, just for using Police computers and time to do it.
