My da would be turning in his grave.
We were out on our bikes today, cycling down the promenade, and we met some English-speaking acquaintances.
I said something about taffies and she said "What's one of those?".
I thought she was joking , but after five minutes it was clear she was serious, and she was Scottish (by way of australia).
Absolutely no racism intended here but I have always been called taffy. Wherever I have lived, and I have not been offended.
Am I missing something? Are Welsh people no longer called taffy, or is it now seen as an insult?
