New radiator for a 200 Tdi. Has anyone seen this?

Wild Rover

Overdrive!
Hi there I need a new radiator before the weather gets much warmer. Has anybody seen this,cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-DISCOVERY-200TDI-RADIATOR-NEW_W0QQitemZ320033445215QQihZ011QQcategoryZ31348QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem.

I looked at radiators in Paddocks and they were twice this price. I can't affford one for £260+ but £115 plus postage I could just about cope with. I was wondering if there was a reason why the linked radiators are cheaper. It has to be better than the one I have now which is missing fins over about two thirds of the area and getting close to overheating with an empty trailer.

Any advice greatly received, also are there any periferal item that are best replaced at the same time like new hoses or bolts that always corrode. I want to get everything before I take it apart as it stops me working and I dont want to hang around waiting for parts that are needed etc.

Cheers

mm i bought a new rad not too long ago, think it was around 100 and a bit.... was from craddock/paddocks one of them i think..

COuldnt find the receit though when i looked for it the other day,,,

Cheers

Yellow pages.
Look for a radiator repair specialist.
A new core will be just over 100quid. You get your own tanks back which means you get the right radiator.

I wouldn't be buying new

got one about a year ago adout 100 + post from paddocks no problems straight fit no fiddling bits added or missing , you might find some advertised prices include the intercooler as well as the rad. paddocks did i just asked for the rad price and was quoted what it was + post , hope this helps

I got my Brand new Disco 200Tdi radiator from Paddocks, cost £99.00.

As regards sticky bolts etc, the only problem you might have is taking the top off the radiator/intercooler frame, there are two bolts into captive nuts on either side of the frame, however that's nothing that a good soak with penetrating oil wouldn't sort out. Then once you have the radiator out, it might be a good idea to separate the frame, give it a good wire brushing and re-paint before screwing it all back together. You could also invest in some new hoseclamps [size 38 - 50mm IIRC:rolleyes: ], to help put it back together. And while you are on the subject of spending money, what condition are the hoses in? Might be worthwhile changing them if they are starting to swell / perish.
