new series transfercase adapter?

MPi-KMS-72

Big Landy Fan
Has anyone seen the new adapter from Advanced Adapters? It isn't really super useful for those of you in the UK but it will open up some really neat possible combinations. It should allow a wide range of US trannys to be used- NV4500, T18, NP435, SM465, maybe SM420, and probably auto boxes as well- Naturally that opens a wide range of potential engine swaps too, anyone want an LT1 in an 88" ? no? how about a Cummins? :D

These pics were posted on Pirate.

neato!

well i would love a detroit v8 in my range rover but dont think we have any springs stiff enough for the weight of them. lovely engines but god are they heavy!
What is the availability of them in the states these days, getting a bit rare? I mean one suitable for a land rover sized vehicle.

What is the availability of Detroit Diesels? they are still fairly common but when last I knew they were all very heavy even the 4-53 aliminum block diesels were damn heavy. You'd be better off with a Cummins 4bt ot 6bt. Sure they are heavy too but nore common today and available at pretty reasonable prices.

I guess if anyone needs info on the adapter they can contacht Matt directly at Advanced Adapters. He can fill you in on the specific details- I think it essentiallly makes the LT Transfer case "look" like a Dana 300 from the front- thus anything that can be attached to a dana 300 by any means can also be used with the Series Rover T-case. A neat idea- I kind of wish I had thought of that.

is the T18/19 a Ford box?

yes, the T18 was used by Ford- the t19 was also, they were made by Borg Warner. they are a great 4 speed truck transmission. They were also used by other US manufacturers:

loads of engines can be used with them and they are nearly bulletproof with regard to durability- they can handle big block V8 torque, 6.9l and 7.3l Ford International Diesels etc. With a modest V8 or V6 they'd last forever.
