Numpty Q

My daughter has bought a floppy disc home from school with a composition on it. For homework she must continue working on it .
When I open it, it says its a publisher document, then I get a load of computer talk come up, you know...YYYY.;0- type of thing.
I haven't got "Publisher" installed, is there any way I can open it and make it usable:o
Thanks
Mungo:)

Possibly with trial versions you cannot save/print your work. May be worth checking before your daughter does work on it :)

Download the free trial, then if you can't save into it, copy the text and paste it into Word. She can then continue the story in Word, save it on the disk, and put it back into Publisher at school ... ?

Make sure the version of publisher is correct, if it was created in a newer version of publisher it will not open on you machine. There is a bug in publisher that sometimes sees newer publisher version files not being recoginised as the right file type, thus the publisher not installed message. Also open the file from within publisher rather than double clicking on the file to launch publisher as the auto launch can sometimes cause problems when opening files, especially in publisher.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answers.
I have arranged for a 3 moths free trial of Publisher and asked the school which version they have...Probably a different one the the one I will be trialing:D
