Odometer...

My trip counter counts backwards for somereason, but I can live with that,
but I have noticed that I seem to be doing very high MILEAGE, just didnt make sence as I knew that there was no way thee truck had driven 1000 miles in four/five weeks, only goes to twickenham from woking and back during the five working days,
So today i checked it against my sat nav, turns out the odometer is reading in Kilometers..

Is this normal??

What are the larger figures on your speedo dial? Mines in kilometres.

If the larger figures are Kms then your trip/odometer will read in kms.

Thats the thing, the larger numbers are the miles??????

DOnt get it, but it is definatley reading in kilometers...

Are you sure its KM ? Make sure its not fitted with the wrong drive cog.

Interesting though... The guy that build the truck , replaced the original n/a engine with the 200 tdi, but as far as i know the gearbox/wheels are the same..

How do i know if it is the correct drive cog?

It was close enough to what the sat nav was telling mein distence to accept it is reaing KM accuratly, i mean maybe 1km difference....

Not sure, but I do remember that some speedo's do read in MPH and the mileage was done in KM's. Best way would be to get another speedo and just change it.

Dosnt really bothre me that it reads in KM, at least i know now

Will just leave well enough alone me thinks...
