Power loss

In Second Gear
My Freelander 2 2014 tech, loses power after sitting in traffic or if it's left idling for any reason. My mechanic and the local landrover specialist, have no clue as to why this happens. The car won't move untill I start to pump the accelerator and even then it's slow and laboured. Once turned off for a while, it returns to normal! Has anyone had a similar problem, any clues would be welcome. Thanks

Could be a failing throttle potentiometer. Though why idlung would make a difference I didn't notice know.

Other thoughts....mass air flow sensor, binding brakes, sticking handbrake cable even. Doesn't necessarily have to be fuel related.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Thank youšŸ‘

When was the last time the fuel filter was looked at and you have not changed the filter... get it changed now for a genuine LR one and from what I have read on other forums
1, Cleaned the mass air flow sensor (cleaner bought from amazon)
2, Replaced the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. Part LR001324
3, the crankcase sensor being faulty is another cause

Thank you, will look into other suggestions.yes filters have all been changed, regularly serviced. It's a v frustrating car all round!!

Also, does anyone have a car which can't be read by the fault code reader/diagnostics , if so did you find a solution? Thanks
