Ok here it is a question
I bought a car whilst posted in Germany and didnt have a chance to re register it into my name, now here it is I need to change the lights and a few other things to get it through its MOT came to UK on a mates trailer its still on German plates as I cant seem to get it registered to me without an MOT cant get tax either (No MOT) its sat in my garage and I would like to register it any ideas would really help me
Whatever you do, check with the customs and revenue. They are sure to want their pound of flesh. I'm surprised you got past tem at the port.
I did an MOT on a BMW that the owner had brought with him from Spain. The local Police said he had to get it Registered on British plates as he was now Resident here, not a Visitor.

I tested it on his Spanish Plates, ( as presented ) then when we rebuilt it for him, he got the VT20 and went to Preston where they changed the registration over.

It will Fail on the Head lights, obviously, but you can get them from a Breakers.

Book it in with a VTS and let them Test it.
