PTO adapter

MPi-KMS-72

Big Landy Fan
Has anyone seen a PTO adapter for a Series LR like this? I know they are out there- just don't know who made them... It replaces the bottom cover of the transfer case and would allow you to retain the use of the rear PTO mount for an OD or another PTO.

Are you sure they made them for a Land Rover? The one you show is on a Dana transfercase, possibly a 300. Looks to be on a Ford but could be Jeep.

I have only seen it in the LR parts books, and they seem to be of the unobtanable variety, or like rocking horse poo...........................

Good luck in finding one.

That one is a Ramsey I think and is attached to a Dana 300. Naturally I couldn't find any pics of the LR one. I know that I've seen 1 for sale by Ray Wood of Rocky Mountain. It was in a container load of bits he got from an Aussie. That unit was NOS in a crate with a winch. Ex-Aussie Military. I've heard rumors about them from a British friend of mine too, just never heard who made them etc...

Man If I had known they were that rare I'd have bought the one from Rocky Mountain, I think it was only $1000-1500 winch and all!

Nope that is the rear PTO. The bottom one teplaces the cover on the bottom of the transfer case and allows you to still use the rear PTO for an overdrive. Apparently they are like hen's teeth.

Thanks though!

Aha, think you want the same part as me! I'll post details when I've made a few. This will probably happen during the summer months as we're at the pattern making stage at the moment...

To confirm via pictures....

You want this?: (pics case1 case2)

Or this? (pic dana1)

You'll need the chain drive pto part as well as the bottom pto to run drive forwards and backwards to run a mechanical winch....

I've got an original landrover logo'd hydraulic winch, so i only need to drive my pump from the bottom pto, do you want to do the same hydraulically or mech?

Cheers.
