How Do I? Range p38 head unit has no power

Hi i tried to replace my old broken head unit with a new one yesterday after a wile a managed to get one speaker working. then a wire touched the stereo and the power went. i have checked the head unit in another car and its fine. also checked the 1st fuse under the drivers seat and thats fine. i just dont know what i have done? there is no power
