Got Man Flu again :( Second time since Christmas.

What good remedies do you use? The Scottish falling down water works OK in the evening, what is good whilst at work?

Chris ( feeling worse than everbody else does)

lemsip max is quite good , best thing though is hot toddies , a hot water bottle jammies and bed.
eat pleanty of oranges and drink lots of water.

There are 2 of our lads off, prebooked holidays ( stag week in Hungary), so I can't stay at Home, too much work to do.

Just taking Paracetamol and making everybobys life a misery....

Chris

If your all bunged up try some strong mints or have some curry for dinner.. I can deal with a bad head/gut but if im bunged up im misserable all day!

Weak black tea with a slice of lemon (altho would prefer beer.....) while at work. Preferably a decent type as well, no typhoo much or whatever. Adrian (feeling much worse than you and coughing while typing)

No, you don't, I do!!!

Paracetamol for the aches and pains and shivers, Lucozade or Irn Bru to keep you going for a couple of hours at a time. That's what I did when running teacher training courses.

There were two of us tutors full time, and no cover available as we had just set the course up ourselves, and were still training up new tutors who had yet to be approved - so going off sick simply wasn't an option :(

Are you sure it's not just a bad man cold and not proper man flu? If you had man flu you wouldn't be able to get out of bed.

I have just had man cold, constant runny nose and then blocked nose when trying to sleep. I got some of those Breath Right strips that open up your nose, look stupid but they do work.

Drink lots of water too and Lemsips but dont overdose on Lemsips and paracetemol.

As a wee pick you up, try some Paracetamol, then the worlds hottest , longest shower while smothering yersel in a shower gel containing Tea Tree oil, and Mint [forget the brand name, but it is dark green in colour, and comes in a squishy bottle. "Mint Source" or summat like that].

The shower and paracetamol help with the aches and pains, while the steam and tea tree oil do a great job of clearing the airways.

No Jim, proper man flu is when you ache all over and you are convinced you are going to die. Women call it something like 'whatsthematterwithyouyoubigwussit'sjustabadcold. :D

if your nose makes the front of your face feel like it's gonna explode Sudafed is the don.it's good for clearing the head and nose, which in turn makes you feel tons better. Get well soon chaps.

That's the exact symptoms, BERNIE.

Mum says it's a really bad case of Double Hypochondria, but I know it's much worse than that.:(

and I would just like to point out, NOBODY feels worse than I do...

Looks like it's wait for home time and a rub down with a loose woman...

Chris

The Beer Festival starts tonight

Thats the Ideal cure for a poorly little soldier!!

Plus a hot water bottle, lots of hot drinks and someone to change the tv channels for you. Get well soon.

A fellow man flu sufferer (usually strong enough to make lesser mortals cry)!!

Was talking just now to a friend who is a GP. She was saying that this year they have had loads of peeps in with colds/flu just after Xmas, then back in again a month or two later, either they can't shake it off or it has come back.

Apparently with the mild winter there hasn't been the chance for antibodies to build up, so this type of thing drags on longer, or you can actually catch the same bug again!

She reckons with global warmign etc the 'year round cold' is somethign we will all have to learn to live with ...

ure friend may be right Bernie,i got the bloody cold again :( but im going to work as usual to pass it about lol(well companys fault for stupid attendance programme)

ohh symphathy to fellow suffer :)

The Beer Festival starts tonight, I don't have the energy to go, Jim, That's how bad I am..:(

.............................................................

Can't be asked to go to the Beer Festival? Cor' crikey - Chris is ill chaps!:D

Now remember Chris, this sort of thing should be treated with plenty of liquids, keep warm, stay in bed for as long as possible. Properly treated and cared for, the symptoms will last about seven days.

If you ignore it and just go to work, it'll hang around for a week.

Roger.
