has anyone fitted 90 rear calipers to a 110? i presume the pistons are smaller but perhaps thats not a bad thing. i've seen a few people selling rear calipers and claiming they fit disco,90,110, are they full of s***e  or can it be done:)

cheers paul

According to a certain parts suppliers website

"Part Number : STC1265
CALIPER REAR LH 90/110 TO 2001.DISCO 1 &
RRC 1994 MY ON £41.50 "

Well the part numbers are all different - rear, lh, rh, 90, 110, front lh, rh, abs, non abs ... personally I would want to be sure i was getting exactly the right ones

yes sandy this is the same info i got from certain sources STC1265 lh and STC1264 rh for both 90 and 110, but like bernie says the parts book says different, was just wondering if anyone knew the difference. the parts book gives different part nos for front and rear solid discs but you can use the fronts on the rear and although there is a slight difference many suppliers only list one for both.

thanks guys

I always tend to work on the principal that if parts have different part numbers then they are different parts..
Just because it looks the same doesn't mean it will work the same.

I personally would rather trust my life to the part designed for the job

I've got a 90 rear and a 110 rear caliper sitting on the bench at home and the 110 one is alot bigger if that says anything.

cheers headdamage, i'm building a rear salisbury for my 110, converting it to rear discs and fitting an ARB locker. got all the kit, hubs, discs, caliper brackets etc but i'm short of the calipers. i'm going to get new ones and fit SS pistons and there seems to be alot of new 90 ones about but the 110 ones are thinner on the ground. was just wondering if anyone had done it;)
