rear mud flap mod

jasper110

Offroader
lets face it the rear mud flaps are only good for use as a wind speed indicator when the vehicle is stationary, the more it blows the more horizontal they become. also, check in behind the rear cross member and you'll see how good they are at stopping crud from flying all over the rear of the chasis. so this got me thinking about improving them.
how about a piece of rubber from underneath the rear seatbox going down at an angle to the top of the existing mud flap, and what about moving the mudflap bracket a touch closer to the rear wheel.
i'll take a look in the morning to see how feasible it is. in the meantime has anybody done anything similar?

one of the mudflaps on my 110 has fallen off, and i cant seem to get another one. everyone stocks ones for 90's, but i need the 110 bracket thingy! looks propper daft. i would take the other one off but it looks weird fromt he back with the tall skinny 7.50r16's!

AFAIK the flaps are the same 90/110. It's just the fittings. My dealer keeps flaps in stock.
However which side bracket have you lost.
One is a few quid the other ten times more. Then I bet the bottom of the arch where the bracket fits onto isn't there anymore.

Plastic 25litre oil drums make good mudflaps. Cheap as well as most garages would be pleased to give them away.

My rear flaps are best rally car ones by Sparco turned 90deg to fit.
