ayoungman

In Fourth Gear
Bubbles in water system, thn engine overheats. Pushes out water.
Have, replaced inlet manifold gasket, then refitted and teted the engine. no improvement !

So, off with the heads, both were suspect at ech end between water jacket and end cylinder bore, both replaced with decent heads, refitted and tested, guess what ? still bubbles appearig in the rad' then over heats !

Any suggestion fella's ?

Is it a 3.9? cos if it is then you most likely have one of the liners loose at the top, quite a common fault:( . Not cheaply curable as it need the liners replacing with flanged ones to effect a cure, cos as built the head gasket sits on the block not the liner top:( , with the flange the gasket then sits on the liner so no leak:) .
