Seat Belts and MOT's

The plastic casing has broke on my drivers seatbelt stalk (the bit that surounds the part of the seatbelt which the buckle clicks in and out of).
The buckle still clicks in and releases perfectly, and the part may glue back together, but is this likely to fail an MOT?

No, as long as the mechanism works properly and is still easy to use. Without the casing, locating the release button bu feel would be more difficult, and there may be sharp parts exposed, so a fail is possible. Super Glue works well on the casings, and even wrapping it in tape should suffice.

As Nick says...

damage or deterioration of the plastic covering of a component is not a reason for rejection unless it affects the operation of the belt.

Glad you asked this cos when I bought mine the drivers side one had the same thing, well actually the casing is missing but the belt still fastens and un fastens ok and I was worried it was going to fail it's mot next year:confused:
