Africa Series 1's going going gone

The news regarding my two Series 1's isn't good.

The SAPS came back to me today and told me there is no way they will ever get onto NATIS.

The engines are in pieces and they aren't interested in talking to me until the engines are running. I've spoken to two LR boffins and the general consensus is that neither will run without a major financial investment. It's a bit of a problem when there's a great big bullet hole in the side of the block.

It may be possible to get a new block for the one and maybe (big maybe) bodge the other one, but by doing so I'm going to have to break more than one or two laws, fiddle with engine numbers and do other things that aren't legal and I don't really want to go and sit in Pretoria Central over a couple of Land Rovers.

So I did the only remaining thing and called our friend Rob and made a deal with him. He now owns 27 Series 1's.

Probably for the best. A friend of mine had a similar problem and he ended up losing the Landy to the Police. Fortunatley he stayed out of jail. Also think Series 1s are probably a lot of effort to keep on the road; spares must be difficult to get out here I'm presuming.
