Service How Much

westsussex4

Accelerating Away
I am about to get my 93, 200 TDi 90 serviced. Last time it cost me £1234 (easy to remember). This time I know I will need to change the front discs, full service and hopefully that will be it ?
Is there any special type of filters I should ask for and if this is all the work needed, how much do you reckon, top wack. It's a LR specialist not a dealer.
Cheers

£1234 !!!! Kin 'ell what did they replace for that?
New discs and full service should still give you change from £300.
If not - Don't use that place again !

You could practically replace the 90 for that. A service in itself should only be something like 120-150 for the labour, max.

But obviously if you had a new clutch there is about 6 hours labour plus parts, 'and other jobs' = you didn't really pay 1234 just for a service!

Try and get the labour itemised, so that it shows how much time is spent on each job including the service. But if you get a garage to do everything on an older landy, the costs can mount up ... :(

I would be dead and cold before i paid that for a service.....

Cnat you replace your own pads, oil filter, oil, deisel filter, air filter, which as i understand it is a basic service..

Cheers

Haven't done a service before, I will look into it, I have a disc on maintenance of a landy, which might have all the info............

Have a read here https://www.lrukforums.com/showthread.php?t=81760
I've tried to make it a easy as possible to follow the jobs through.
The service schedule part 1 is just a check sheet. You could print that off and use it as intended.

Any problems or questions please ask. I and no doubt others will try and help you.
An edit to say.
Look at www'difflock.com. The drain plugs. Well you'll not make such a mess if you buy one of those.
